The Storm

$6,500.00

Mixed media 36” x 36”

The Storm explores the experience of being caught between structure and chaos. Layers of pattern, color, line, and fragmented forms collide across the surface, creating a visual rhythm that shifts constantly between control and disruption. Repeated marks suggest systems and routines, while sweeping curves and overlapping shapes interrupt them, creating a sense of instability and movement.

The bright pinks, oranges, yellows, and turquoise blues bring energy to the composition, but beneath that vibrancy is a darker current of tension. Deep blues, blacks, and purples create moments of weight and resistance, as if something unsettled is moving beneath the surface.

Rather than depicting a specific event, The Storm is about an internal state—the feeling of having many things happening simultaneously and trying to find a sense of balance within them. The painting embraces visual excess because emotional experience is rarely clean or orderly. Thoughts overlap. Feelings contradict one another. Moments of clarity appear and disappear.

In this sense, the storm is not something happening outside of us. It is the space we sometimes have to move through within ourselves.
